Christmas Eve with the Lindemanns

We have spent every Christmas eve since we have moved here with our Albuquerque family, the Lindemanns. Every year we go to PF Changs for dinner and then head down to Old Town. This year Kim and Andy's son Jeremy was in town with his girlfriend Ashley. They are both from Chicago and it was nice having them there. Dinner was exceptionally tasty! After dinner we headed down to Old Town. (For those wh0 aren't familiar with Old Town, it is the original buildings from when the Spaniards came and founded Albuquerque. In other words it is a little area enriched with history. We love it!)

Every Christmas Eve Old Town in lined with Luminaries (bags with sand and a candle). It is breathe taking. We haven't missed a year.
This year at Old Town included a live manger scene. I wasn't able to see anything because I am too short. Being that Brad is 6'6", he had no trouble viewing it. After Old Town we went home and watched one of my families favorite movies, The Muppets Christmas Carol! It was a nice way to end a spectacular evening. We hope that all of you had a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Snap into a Slim Jim.....

I am sorry that it has been awhile in between blogs. I was waiting to see if Brad was going to jump up to the plate. Well he didn't and here I am. Let's recap the past week. We had a couple of birthdays this past week. Enrique (my cousin) turned 10! I can't believe he is that old. Mom had a birthday, she would probably kill me if I mentioned her age. =) Last but definitely not least Brad's birthday was on Saturday!! We took a trip to Hello Gyro and the casino. We didn't do so well at the casino but it was fun. Saturday, Jess made homemade Lasagna and I made Brad's absolute favorite Pineapple Upside down cake. Yum! We just relaxed around the house and took it easy.

I bet your wondering the reason behind my title. Well, we joined Snap Fitness! Brad and I went for the first time tonight. It is really convenient, within walking distance. We figured the only way to stay motivated was to include it in our blog. We will keep you guys posted. =)

Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates.

4th of July weekend...

Brad and I had a great 4th of July planned out. Thursday night we went to Kim and Andy's. Andy turned 50! Brad and I had our first experience with Chicago style Italian Beef sandwiches. Kim had the food flew in from Chicago. They were pretty tasty! After we got home Brad wasn't feeling too well. Originally we were suppose to go to Santa Fe with Adam and Sarah. Sarah's parents were having a little 4th of July get together. Let's just say that we didn't make it. We did get to see fireworks though. We walked out onto the arroyo. (for those who don't know what that is, it is a New Mexico version of a flood channel) From there we were able to see fireworks across the valley!

Saturday, Brad was going to take me to a little mom and pop place for lunch. With it being the 4th of July weekend. The place was closed. Brad and I ended up at Sadie's. I love Sadie's. They have pretty good margaritas and food. After a few margaritas and lunch, we went back home. We just hung around the house the rest of the weekend.

Oh! I forgot something. I guess you could say that I have seen a whole new side to Brad. Let me explain. DirecTv had a free preview of the game lounge. It has a bunch of games listed such as monopoly, darts, Yahtzee and Skip-Bo. Skip-Bo is Brad's arch nemesis. He has 3 of them; Simon, Peter and Tina. They are the computer players that you play against in Skip-Bo. After awhile of playing Brad got sort of hostile and was calling on the tv. I was thinking about subscribing to it, but after I saw what happens when he plays Skip-Bo vs. the computer. We probably should just stick to rummy. Well, now that I have rattled on I am going to call it a night.

Our first Blog

Brad and I have decided to join the rest of you and start a little blog. We have appropriately named it the Misguided Adventures of Brad and Cass. Our goal is to keep in touch with the rest of you. Brad says that he is going to blog on here, but I am having my doubts about that. When I asked Brad if he had anything to add, he replied ummm. So, like I said we will see. Until next time, may the fish always be bitting.
